Pumpkin Patch!

We had quite an eventful weekend at the Miller house.  Briggan stayed the night at Grandma Miller's for the first time on Friday night.  We are doing some trial run nights before we leave for Las Vegas at the end of November.  I am running the Las Vegas Half-Marathon and we will be gone for 4 days.  So, to prepare myself we had to do a trial run.  It was hard on this mommy! Briggan did fine of course, but I bawled as I was driving away.  Todd took me to Antlers in Moscow for supper to try and take my mind off things.  We had a nice evening out.

Saturday morning, I ran a local 5k here in town.  It was a fundraiser for our local animal response team, and dogs were welcome to participate as well.  It was wet, cold, and miserable. My running however, was great!  Once I started running, I warmed up to the perfect temperature.  I was able to hold a nice even pace, and I took second place! I even won a pedicure kit from Avon as a door prize. Score!

Sunday, we went to church. Briggan did so well,  I did not have to take him to nursery! I think he was enthralled with the music.  Sunday afternoon we made a trip to the local pumpkin patch. The sun was starting to peek out from the clouds and it warmed up. We had a great time, and then headed back to town.  We came up on  a rollover accident on the same curve I had my wreck on in 2002.  Talk about deja vu!  Thankfully the young couple were wearing their seatbelts, and were able to walk away!  Praise God for that! We stayed with them until the ambulance and police got there, and then we headed home.   Here are some photos from that trip:

Briggan has gained lots of speed crawling, and is now pulling up to standing on a lot of things.  I put him in his crib while I ran his bathwater, and this is what I came back to.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Fall is here!

Well, fall is here! The temps are dropping and the leaves are turning.  I have never done a favorite things post, so here it is.

I fell in love with my friend Kelley 's boots.  I searched high and low for these perfect fall boots.  Sadly, they are sold out everywhere. So after much searching, I found a pair I liked almost as well.  I ordered them and fell in love with them when they came in.  I base what I am wearing to go with the boots! I want to wear them everyday!
My next favorite fall thing is Chai Lattes.  OMG they are so good, and most are caffeine free, which is good for this nursing momma.

I rarely drink because I am still nursing, but when I do I drink Barefoot wine.  It is awesome stuff that isn't outrageously expensive.

I love the smell of fall at my house, and for that I use my Scentsy warmers.  My favorite fall scent is pumpkin roll!

Last, but not least, my favorite thing about fall is comfort food in the crockpot!  My favorite recipes are roast, chili, white chicken chili, chicken enchilada soup, ham and beans, etc.  And I wonder why I always struggle with my weight ;)

I have lots of beauty products that are favorites, but I will save that for another post.
 Until then......

9 months!

Briggan is 9 months old today! Wow, how time flies. It was beautiful out so we had a mini photoshoot.

We had a nice relaxing weekend at home.  Daddy went hunting and we cleaned out Bubba's toybox and closet.  He had a great time in the toys! Later, mom and dad came over to watch Briggan so that I could do  a long run with Kelley and Amanda.  He had a great time with them, and mommy got her run in! A double bonus!

Have a great week friends!

Starting to crawl!

Well, I will not be able to contain my baby much longer!  He has begun to crawl a few steps at a time, but has yet to get brave enough to go beyond that.  We have a little bit of rough week, Briggan was sick early in the week with a cough, then his other front tooth decided to make an appearance! Poor baby! Praying next week is better!  Here is a quick video of Briggan working on his skills.

Spaghetti!

Briggan has really been wanting to eat what Todd and I are eating lately, so I decided to give him some spaghetti.  He went nuts! He was shoving it in by the fistful.  I don't think that pureed foods are going to satisfy him much longer.  I had no idea how much fun kids could be!  Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I do!

Opening day archery 2012

Well friends, I did it!  I got my buck on opening day!  Briggan is teething, and we had a horrible night, so when the alarm went off Monday morning, I was dragging a little.  4 hours of sleep is not enough! So we got out to the stand and did not have to wait long.  After first light, my buck came in.  Boy, was my adrenaline pumping.  He presented a shot, so I took it.......and I was holding my bow so tight that I skipped an arrow across his back.  He ran a short distance but decided to come back in.  This is RARE. Most people will never get a second shot at a deer, but he gave me another chance.  He presented me with another broadside shot, and I nailed him.  He ran about 20 yds. and that was it.  I was super pumped!  The really neat thing is that Todd got the whole thing on video.  It was nice to watch it all again.  It will also be neat to show Briggan some day.  It is always nice to get a deer, but then the real work begins.  We process all the meat ourselves, so we have a busy couple of days ahead!  It is worth it though for deer jerky!

A girl with pink arrows.....

This was my deer 2 years ago.
It is that time of year again my friends.....hunting season!  Buck fever has bitten me again.  I am really looking forward to hunting this year un-pregnant!  That's right, I hunted up until 32 weeks preggo last year.  This year it will be much more comfortable sitting in a treestand!  I am excited because I actually have opening day off this year, and Todd took off the whole week.  I am going to have to make my time in the stand count, because there will be less of it.  Somebody has to watch the baby :)  Soon enough though, I'm sure Briggan will be in his own deer stand!

We have a busy weekend planned.  I'm running the Fiesta 5k and 2mile race in Garden City Saturday morning, then coming home to get hunting things organized and ready.  Then we are off to a birthday party, and Sunday I'm on call and we have family getting baptised! Whew, I'm glad I have Monday off to recover!
