9 months!

Briggan is 9 months old today! Wow, how time flies. It was beautiful out so we had a mini photoshoot.

We had a nice relaxing weekend at home.  Daddy went hunting and we cleaned out Bubba's toybox and closet.  He had a great time in the toys! Later, mom and dad came over to watch Briggan so that I could do  a long run with Kelley and Amanda.  He had a great time with them, and mommy got her run in! A double bonus!

Have a great week friends!

Starting to crawl!

Well, I will not be able to contain my baby much longer!  He has begun to crawl a few steps at a time, but has yet to get brave enough to go beyond that.  We have a little bit of rough week, Briggan was sick early in the week with a cough, then his other front tooth decided to make an appearance! Poor baby! Praying next week is better!  Here is a quick video of Briggan working on his skills.

Spaghetti!

Briggan has really been wanting to eat what Todd and I are eating lately, so I decided to give him some spaghetti.  He went nuts! He was shoving it in by the fistful.  I don't think that pureed foods are going to satisfy him much longer.  I had no idea how much fun kids could be!  Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I do!

Opening day archery 2012

Well friends, I did it!  I got my buck on opening day!  Briggan is teething, and we had a horrible night, so when the alarm went off Monday morning, I was dragging a little.  4 hours of sleep is not enough! So we got out to the stand and did not have to wait long.  After first light, my buck came in.  Boy, was my adrenaline pumping.  He presented a shot, so I took it.......and I was holding my bow so tight that I skipped an arrow across his back.  He ran a short distance but decided to come back in.  This is RARE. Most people will never get a second shot at a deer, but he gave me another chance.  He presented me with another broadside shot, and I nailed him.  He ran about 20 yds. and that was it.  I was super pumped!  The really neat thing is that Todd got the whole thing on video.  It was nice to watch it all again.  It will also be neat to show Briggan some day.  It is always nice to get a deer, but then the real work begins.  We process all the meat ourselves, so we have a busy couple of days ahead!  It is worth it though for deer jerky!

A girl with pink arrows.....

This was my deer 2 years ago.
It is that time of year again my friends.....hunting season!  Buck fever has bitten me again.  I am really looking forward to hunting this year un-pregnant!  That's right, I hunted up until 32 weeks preggo last year.  This year it will be much more comfortable sitting in a treestand!  I am excited because I actually have opening day off this year, and Todd took off the whole week.  I am going to have to make my time in the stand count, because there will be less of it.  Somebody has to watch the baby :)  Soon enough though, I'm sure Briggan will be in his own deer stand!

We have a busy weekend planned.  I'm running the Fiesta 5k and 2mile race in Garden City Saturday morning, then coming home to get hunting things organized and ready.  Then we are off to a birthday party, and Sunday I'm on call and we have family getting baptised! Whew, I'm glad I have Monday off to recover!

Sleep.....I'm finally getting some!

Sleeping isn't so bad after all!
Well I am happy to report that we have had one successful week of Ferber training!  My baby is finally sleeping like a normal kid should, and so is mommy!  I will admit, the first night was extremely hard.  My friend Kelley Baker helped me get through it and I am so thankful for her support.  I was texting her like mad, I just needed to be reassured that I was doing the right thing.  Thanks Kelley for your support! It is amazing how much having a well rested family can do for your outlook on life!

Scott Lake weekend

This past weekend we went to Scott Lake.  We had a great time just relaxing with family.  We went on walks, and went to Monument Rock.  This was a very sleep deprived weekend however, and mommy had enough!  So, as soon as we got home we began Ferber sleep training. I am happy to report my little man has made it two nights in a row sleeping through the night!  Hopefully it will continue!  We have a busy weekend ahead, I have a race on Saturday morning, and we are painting our house finally!  I would love to use Sunday to recover, but I'm on call.  Have a great weekend everyone!
Daddy was letting Briggan work on a Hot Pocket.  He kept saying "mmmmm!"
